Recently I started to switch from AWL to the TxRep method of reputation scores. Lists are downloaded and configuration applied, like in official documentation. Plugin is correctly loaded in Debug Output and don't show error. Either this plugin is completely useless, because URL's are too unique, what I don't expect, or there is something I don't recognize. But regardless what I did and how long I wait, there are no matches. This theoretically sounds clever and I would like to to run a test with this. Since Spamassassin 3.4.2 there is a Plugin which should catch Phishing URL's from two "public managed" phishing lists. Generally your Guide was a very helpful step to start with PMG.ġ- Mail::SpamAssassin:: Plugin:: Phishing Probably you had already solved or also tried without success. Avast might detect a threat that Avira doesn't, or vice-versa.Įdited by xblindx, 06 March 2010 - 10:49 AM.After some months of optimizations, based on your Starting Guide, I still wasn't able to solve some questions I had. So again I say, its really down to personal preference because avast or Avira isn't going to stop every virus.

Have to babysit it while it scans (it prompts you what to do whenever it finds a virus, yes you can make it automatically quarantine, but that is only AFTER it has found at least 1 virus in the scan)Īvast: Haven't really found many except the scan speed may be just a TINY bit slow, but I am running a very old system.Īvira: The best detection rates of any free AV, but sadly, also one of the highest false positive AVs.Īvast: Very fast updates, high detection rates, medium level of false positives but definition updates solve this problem quickly.īoth programs have great real-time protection, as well as amazing scan and removal methods. Updates sometimes don't work, or are extremely slow. Here is what I foundĪvira: Slow, confusing interface.

Personally, I would go with whichever you choose, they both have their Pros and Cons, I used Avira for around 3 years, and just recently switched to avast! 5 while it was still in beta. The paid version of Avira includes those features as well.

Wrong, the anti-spam and built in firewall are only in the paid for version of avast!. I recommend you Avast, which is better among these antivirus programs, it can give your computer real-time protection and also it has anti-spam filter and a built-in firewall I just use it for some time,it really performs great!
